Now that we're well into the season a lot of you will have caught some good fish by now despite the summer deluge in August and early September. This kept river levels very high for the time of year and as usual undid the hard work of those who went on a working parties this year thus making the banks a little tricky and sticky. On the up side the Barbel fed well when levels started to drop.
I'm told that Big Pool and Seggy Pool have fished well since the start of the season although I have only ventured out once so far this season and that was on the first Eel night. I was going on the second one but the great British weather decided otherwise once more.
Good Carp from Seggy and Tench and Roach from Big Pool seem to be still on the feed so best give them some food while they are still hungry.
I'm told that the track at Riverlands has been badly affected by the weather so if your going down there you may need to park close to the barn and walk the last bit. Please park sensibly.
As usual at this time of year we start to promote the half price winter ticket which starts on the 1st November and runs till the end of the season. This is exactly what it says it is and usually we get a few pike anglers joining to pursue the pike on all the clubs waters. You pikers out there should not neglect the canal stretches as these are hardly touched by predator anglers and are an untapped resource. Give it a go.
Lastly, could members please send some photo's for the gallery page. The ones there are nearly worn out and there must be some better looking members out there!
Regards to you all |
