Dated 2nd of October 2009
Hi everyone
I hope your having a great season so far.
Can you believe that Autumn is with us already.
As most of you will know, Dudmaston has been in sparkling form, with some superb bags of Tench during the summer.
As the water cools over the Autumn the Roach will start to become the dominate species to feed.
There are some quality Roach in the big pool and they are well worth fishing for.
Pike will also start to feature, but please remember to use the appropriate tackle when fishing for the Pike.
Strong rods (a 2.5-3lb tc Carp rod will be fine) and line of around 15lb bs.
Deadbaits work well, along with spinners and plugs.
Sink and draw (wobbling) is another killer method as the clarity of the water becomes better after the first few frosts.
Please remember NO LIVEBAITING is allowed on Dudmaston!
If you've never Pike fished before and fancy having a go, get in touch with me and either myself or one of the other committee members will arrange to go with you to give you some pointers on how to tackle up and handle/care for Pike.
There have been some superb Carp caught from Seggy this year too, with some beautiful looking Mirrors and Commons into double figures.
Hampton Loade has also fished well despite the low clear conditions, with a number of big middle Severn Barbel and some very good Chub to over 5lbs.
The other river venues could really do with a drop of the wet stuff to spark them into life.
From Oct 1st we are now offering a half price membership, so tell your friends and relatives.
Just simply fill out the application for off the web site and forward it to me with your photos and cheque.
